Can I just say how much this pisses me off? Not just because I, myself, am an Atheist or because I have no respect for the Christian religion - because I do. I respect every single religion, as well as the lack of one. I believe to those who need it it can be an important key to finding one’s self and getting through the rough spots.
But I can’t stand when I see this stuff on my news feed. First off, just because someone doesn’t want to reblog this or isn’t of the Christian faith doesn’t mean they’re a Satanist. According to the U.S. Census Population Clock there are currently 6,991,051,411 people in the world and at the last count there are currently only 2.1 billion Christians in the world. That’s roughly less than 1/3 of the world’s population. I hate to break it to those of you who have this mentality but the other 2/3rds of the world’s population aren’t worshiping the person you call Satan.
Yes, don’t get me wrong, there are those who do and consider themselves Satanists but the number, in comparison with the world’s population, is so small that it’s hard to keep track of the actual count. Partially due to fact that most won’t consider themselves a member of an organization.
But just because someone doesn’t reblog an idiotic, and completely illogical, photo means that they worship Satan. There are a larger amount of religions in the world, and there are some of us who don’t believe in one at all. So if someone doesn’t believe in your god, they usually don’t believe in the other parts of your religion either (example being Satan). Also, there are some religions who do believe in the same basis of your religion, but don’t call their creator God - such as seen as in the Islamic faith.
I’m not calling out anyone whose religious and wanted to repost it, but I can’t say I respect you. Because I can’t respect someone who doesn’t respect others, and that picture blatantly doesn’t respect a larger portion of the world’s population.
